Gotham’s report on Julie Cavanagh’s appearance at Murry Bergtruam should be updated to include the video link. In a short 5 minute extract http://youtu.be/4Wl0CKFVq3A Julie describes the process that led her to become an activist beginning in 2009. From the invasion of the charter school, helping lead the fight against it, seeing the bigger picture and helping organize and lead the demo at Bloomberg’s home, to her understanding of the role the UFT was playing and not playing in the ed deform movement to becoming the unanimous choice to run for President on the MORE ticket.
In the full 50 minute Q&A https://vimeo.com/61162249 Julie responds to a series of touch questions from veteran teachers where she defines the differences between MORE and the Mulgrew led Unity Caucus.

Let me point out that calling the LA election success for all is a misdirection. You guys should link to the Ravitch piece pointing out that when it’s millions against pea shooters and the pea shooter wins that is a failure of ed deform.

Does the video show the crowd of 14 that Gotham reported? Is that figure they reported accurate?
MrKotter
Well said.

Probably right, Would have been 15 if Mulgrew was willing to face Julie in a debate.
