I respectfully demand that GS lands an interview with “Gomie” and determines where his platform falls on the eduspectrum.
And I wish I could be a fly on the wall wherever Larry Littlefield or Ken Hirsh are if and when they read the Insideschools opinion piece on busing, which implies that our student transportation system is underfunded.

It’s absurd to portray Peter Goodman as an active union member who speaks for Unity, Mulgrew, or other union leadership. He doesn’t, he’s a retiree who does what he wants.
The radical ICE guys in MORE know this. Both they and GS should not be portraying him as a union authority.

Isn’t he a member of the Delegate Assembly on the Unity retiree slate? You don’t get on unless you sign the pledge. As a former district rep he pushes the kool aid. Every single thing he writes echoes the Unity line and in fact is put out there as a feeler. See Ed Notes commentary on Goodman where we parse his blog as he says the UFT must satisfy Rhee and ed deformers. Pretty much sums up where their concerns lie. http://ednotesonline.blogspot.com/2013/01/unity-hack-peter-goodman-compares-more.html

So what are going to have now Tom Cruise as the Chancellor?

I suspect that they think that its only the high school teachers who don’t want the new evaluation. I wonder why that is? Have they figured out that more complaints against it come from high school teachers?
Brontoburger7
Norm, you are giving him way too much credit.
To say that every single thing he writes echoes the caucus line and is put out as a feeler would be as absurd if someone claimed that every single thing you wrote echoes the MORE line and is put out as a feeler.
http://ednotesonline.blogspot.com/ Norm
Really Brontoburger? Show me one thing Goodman has written that doesn’t echo the Unity line. And the difference between MORE and Unity is something called DEMOCRACY. I don’t get tossed out of MORE or sign a pledge to agree with everything. Goodman and all Unity slugs sign such an agreement and face expulsion of they don’t agree.

Well now, if he’s a delegate, that would make him an active union member.

Only half of the EIS statements and hearing dates are up on the DOE site for the proposed phase-outs. However it looks like many of the phase outs are clearing room for new, or expanding charter schools (ie. Sheephead, Graphic, 203).

Norm,
Who is responsible for the MORE website and the postings there? I don’t see that information anywhere.
Nycdoenuts
Its a democratic process where nothing is published unless consensus is reached. As a new member of MORE I have been impressed as to how committed they are to the consensus. That’s why the byline is always MORE.
I know that consensus may sound new to you, so let me explain; it’s this cool process where nothing is done unless everyone in the group can live with it.
Brontoburger7
But who’s running the website? Mysterious!
http://ednotesonline.blogspot.com/ Norm
Hey BrontoUnityBurger, Doenuts pretty much said it about that consensus thing in MORE, sort of the same as Unity where one person at the top tells you all what to do and all of you reach consensus by bowing down and saying AMEN and everyone in the group MUST live with it. By the way, who runs the UFT/Unity Caucus/Edwize (is that still around?) web sites? So curious with Leo gone. Or is he? If you need lessons on democracy, given that you have been in an ideological gulag for so long, feel free to ask.
