THIS NEWS JUST IN: John Dewey High School in South Brooklyn suffered major damage this morning at 8am. The school was partially submerged in water, it was flooded due to Hurricane Sandy, this helped spark a malfunction and created a power leakage. Shortly afterwards, there was a loud explosion that woke up many of the nearby residents. It was so loud people jumped and the alarms of the cars started to sound off. This impact left a huge hole on the school's roof. The right side was completely covered in flames and smoke. There were over a dozen firetrucks to help stop the vicious flames. THE WORST PART? John Dewey High School was wrongly accused as being a failing school, and was one of the 24 schools to be "turned around" (closed basically) this Summer but was stopped by an arbitrator over the Summer. It hasn't been going well for Dewey in recent years, and hopefully the NYCDOE realizes this and gives Dewey the proper funding it deserves. This is unbelievable. Poor Dewey.
