Brilliant and informative article. We should have more teachers like Mr. Minetti who not only loves his job but relates to the students in a way that they really learn and enjoy the class. Encore, encore and bravo to a great and dedicated teacher.

It’s about time that people realize how important the arts really are to our kids and the everyday importance it has in the lives of our students. Whether it’s art or music or some sort of expressive class, the kids truly benefit from it. A real school with leaders who know this will only succeed further and be viewed as the complete package to aspiring students and their parents. Schools that fail to offer the arts are lacking a real balance and are seen as not as attractive to future candidates. The leadership at this school and schools like it, should be commended and rewarded. What a pleasure to see.

Just an FYI–I was told about “Do Now” assignments in 1984. They were certainly not introduced in 2003, and were certainly well-known by many long before that. However, I would not be at all surprised if some Tweedie or other claimed to have invented the concept, or some outside consultant were paid handsomely to reintroduce something that was decades old.

I have worked with Mr. Minetti since April of 2001. He is a consummate professional through and through. He incorporates all of the academic disciplines into his lesson planning. Columbus High School and the campus schools are very fortunate to have his steadfast leadership. Art brings out the best in all of our students, through expression, and focus! The Art Program should be expanded throughout our schools, and sadly it is not!! The D.O.E. sadly has decimated programs intended to benefit all of our students. Students need a well rounded education, not a test!! Bravo, to my colleague, my friend, Larry Minetti!! COLUMBUS HIGH SCHOOL WILL LIVE ON!!!
