Nice! The guy who gave Republicans running for the Senate a million dollars criticizes the group who gave money to the Democrats!
I wonder how much of his pubic criticism has to do with the fact that the Republicans in NYs Senate expressed frustration with the mayor’s nagging for votes just a few months ago?
NYC Teacher
In reference to the article about Mayor Bloomberg criticizing NYSUT for throwing their support behind Democratic candidates for NYS Senate I wrote:
For a “supposedly” bright man hizoner is a bit of a dummy if he can’t figure out why the NYSUT would like to replace Republican State Senators who have been “paid in full” by Bloomberg. Look at Long Island Senator Flanagan who was doing Bloomberg’s bidding by trying to eliminate seniority protections ONLY for NYC Teachers. When questioned why he was pushing that legislation he told his constituents not to worry about it because it only effected NYC not Long Island teachers. Another genius who couldn’t figure out that many of his constituents ARE NYC teachers. Throw the bums out!
“Those who can.. TEACH. Those who cannot pass laws about teaching.”

A “handful” of schools labeled failing did well last year? Insideschools found that out of 102 schools that earned D’s or F’s this year, 24
earned A’s and B’s last year. 24 schools is a lot more than a “handful” unless you’re talking about a species yet unknown. There would have been even more top ranking schools that failed this year if the DOE hadn’t built in a brake in the formula, as Markowitz pointed out w/ PS 234.
Former Turnaround Teacher
Does the DOE realize the absurdity of celebrating that many star baseball players graduated from NYC schools, when almost every school on the list has either been closed, or was on the “Turnaround” list last year and would have been closed?
