You are talking out of your ass. You do not know what happened with regard to O’Mahoney and this principal. Regarding her competency, your statement is not true. She is quite competent. She has many strengths and some weaknesses, like all people. Overall, she is quite capable, works hard, and earned her position. As for dealing with doe stats and report cards, all principals have to deal with the bs created under Bloomberg. Finally, this principal changed networks and doing so created much tension with a this man, who obviously must have friends in high places given he has not been fired.

This is hilarious. This has been going on for ages. Check Sheepshead’s on Network leader WENDY KARP. She was a failed principal at Madison and got bumped UP to Network leader. While there, she has hired friends of hers such as failed Principal Amy HOROWITZ as superintendent and put in her long time Dewey friend and corrupt COOKING TEACHER, REESA LEVY as Principal. Its all the same.

This principal has hired an interim acting Special Ed. teacher. (supposedly Asst. Principal.) Nobody knows where she came from, I understand that she has no experience in Special Ed.She is very incompetent in running this dept. in so much that she has been soliciting help from some Special Ed. teachers. Mr. O’mahoney pursuaded her to target certain Special Ed. teachers, and U rate them to further his agenda. What ELSE! Bring in teachers from his former network. Nepotism! After less than five months, he has promoted her to Deputy Head of the School. This man should be replaced.

If further litagation in the form of a civil or criminal case arises out of O’Mahoneys actions, will CC represent him on the tax payers dime?? Did CSA represent him using CSA dues? Believe me — the “poor principal” you are referring to knew EXACTLY what was going on, and received her Principalship ONLY because of the Powis – O’Mahoney circle of power. She was not qualified for the job, never deserved the job, and began successfully ruining the school the moment she arrived. Because she knows how to manipulate the system, skew the data and under-report school incidents, she looks good on paper, is reaching all the benchmarks the DOE expects, and is laughing behind everyone’s backs…. and this will continue for as long as she can get away with it. This is a much deeper, much more insidious and much more evil conspiracy than what is being disclosed.

that’s an interesting question, actually. o’mahoney signed the disposition in april 2012. but the case number (2011-720) indicates that his case was opened in 2011. the DOE thus appointed him to his principal position in december 2011, almost certainly after the investigation was already underway.

I am concerned. How was an investigation done by the “Conflict of Interest Board” and the DOE was not notified earlier? John Omahoney was supposed to report his conflict on interest case to the DOE – this should also be investigated. The DOE might not have appointed this criminal if they knew of his crimes. We must ensure that this does not end up under the carpet.

This man should be fired. He is practicing the same thing at Sheepshead Bay and destroying lives. He has excessed teachers and hired those from his former network. He has walked into teacher’s classroom and U rated teachers. In some instances he has taken away the licenses from some special Ed. teachers, who can never teach in that license area again. Can you imagine, this principal has never taught one day in his life. What does he know about teaching? He should be fired.

You cannot blame the poor principal. This guy makes you feel that he has the support of the DOE. Read the article in the New York Post: He made someone (perhaps pretending to be a DOE staff) tell the principal that his wife could not be excessed. This guy is a con artist, a criminal. He is doing the same thing at Sheepshead Bay High School. Our chancellor has to address this matter seriously. You can not blame the poor principal, many have suffered from the actions of this criminal. There is much more, please investigate and thanks to Gotham Schools for allowing us to voice our concerns in this platform. We are not being malicious, this criminal has to go; the court has condemned him and there is much more, the DOE must now do its job for this to also serve as a deterent to others.

I believe that it is also the fault of the principal for not reporting said actions to someone above O’Mahoney. Because of this, I’m sure other teachers were probably excessed. It is these actions that cost a school community hardworking and dedicated teachers who truly deserve to be in the school. What a disgrace.
