A 33 year old Principal of a large high school brought in to destroy the school and evaluate teachers with tons of more experience than he has. Another exaple of the Leadership Academy at work and the reason the Mayor’s entire school reform is a farce. Nobody at age 33 possible has the experience to properly evaluate teachers or make suggestions for their improvement which are the basic responsibilities of a Principal. We all know there are plenty more like destroying the school system. Nice going Bloomberg, you fool.

It’s not about reform that gives kids what they need and promote an education theory and practice that will serve society well, it’s about control and ideology that will serve politicians and the wealthy well.
Larry Littlefield
Nonetheless cyber schools may be the future of education. Not because they are better or good, but because regular schools will become worse as more and more money goes to their actual function. Earlier retirement on richer terms.
That decision has already been made, irrevocably. The longer the city waits to admit it, the worse it will be.

I just want to say it is the new principal that got to choose the staff. The old principal had the meth and had no say in the rehiring process.

THE LINK TO THE ARTICLE ABOUT THE PRINCIPAL CAUGHT WITH METH DOESN’T WORK???

So was this guy the Principal or the former Principal? (Not that a 33 year old under any circumstances can possibly be qualified to be Principal of any sized school let along a large school like Flushing which was the key point.
DUMB PRINCIPALS – WAVE
WAIT A MINUTE – THE PRINCIPAL BUSTED FOR METH IS ONLY 33 YEARS OLD? THAT’S MORE OF THE “STORY” THAN THE METH. SO HE HAD A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, BIG DEAL. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TEACHERS, PRINCIPALS, AND OTHER STAFF USE DRUGS ON A DAILY BASIS? THERE’S NO DRUG TESTING FOR TEACHERS, ETC. ANYWAY, THE STORY SHOULD BE ABOUT HIS AGE. HOW THE HELL CAN YOU BE A PRINCIPAL AT THE AGE OF 33? WHAT A JOKE!!! HOW LONG WAS HE A TEACHER, 2 YEARS? THERE SHOULD EASILY BE A REQUIREMENT FOR PRINCIPALS TO HAVE A MINIMUM OF 15 YEARS AS A TEACHER AND 5 AS AN A.P. BEFORE QUALIFYING AS A PRINCIPAL. 33 YEARS OLD – FREAKIN’ JOKE!!!

These serial school killers – many of whom, professionally speaking, are barely out of diapers – are often selected by Tweed for their addiction to drugs (power, control and slavish obedience to authority) far more destructive than meth.

wow, that is so true re the personality type that tweed seems to seek, and who seeks to rise in tweed-as may be true in certain other large organizations. My new principal certainly fits that model.A vain, egotistical schmoozer. All flash and in love with trends and lingo.
