Unfortunately, I’m increasingly inclined to agree with Waiting. I voted for Obama because he promised to increase Head Start Funding to 18 billion and to insure all eligible children had available spaces for two years. Instead, Head Start funding has remained unchanged, but Federal money is now being used to blackmail states to destroy teachers’ unions and public education. Sorry Barrack, I didn’t vote for that and I won’t be voting for you this time around. Yes, Romney will probably be an all around disaster for the country, but I refuse to be blackmailed into voting for the lesser of two evils concerning education.

Race to the Top is simply a blackmail scheme designed to fire teachers in districts who choose to accept federal, “blood money”. I can’t wait to vote for Romney. At least he believes that the federal government should not be involved education.

No Mr. Duncan, when you and Mr. Bloomberg seek to fatten the wallets of your cronies we all lose. You failed in Chicago and you are failing now as is Bloomberg. How about you leave education to the teachers and remove the politicians and busineesmen?

”I’ll say when adults fight, quite frankly, kids lose,”…Kids are already losing: students w/I.E.P.s, ELLs, Special Needs, children who are homeless, live in Foster Care, have children of their own. There are “kids” like those listed above in all struggling/starving schools. Mr. Duncan, we lost those kids a few years ago…quite frankly I’m wondering if any of this is about kids?
