I have never seen a group of 'professionals' who are involved in the education of children, hate children so much! Principal Maione is an excellent role model for the staff as is AP Holder. The Grady staff really care about the students and get involved with each to afford success. Quality staff and a safe atmosphere make it a happy place to teach and learn.

Thousands of students who applied into schools during October-January that were deemed closing in January are trying to get out and flood the other schools. Look at Flushing, Richmond Hill, Adams. DOE has set forth no plan to improve these schools that a parent can buy into. It is poisoning the well.

Yes, yes and yes.
Phase-out/closure begins way before the first hearing and or protest is even a glimmer in a parent's eye. ...That and constant consistent chaos. How this passes the "children first" sniff test is a mystery.

It seems obvious that schools who were "saved" from turnaround this year will be on next year's chopping block. The DOE has doomed these schools and it is only a matter of time before they shut their doors too. At the same time we found out this morning at Lehman that interviews will begin on Wednesday. The committee, including the Principal of course, will be conducting interviews from 9-5, 4 days a week until they have gotten through the well over 1000 applicants. If teachers are scheduled for a time when they are suppose to be teaching, their classes will be covered. Obviously they care about the kids...(An MIA Principal for the last month of school? Pulling teachers out of their classes during the crucial final days of regents reviews, and finals?)
