This is the worst education policy ever created by humans! I still can't believe that the mayor is closing all of these schools. The thousands of NYC high school graduates will no longer be able to tell their kids which high school they graduated from. The schools will lose the culture that they have built throughout the years. Shame.

Their ability to hire the best will not be affected by the lawsuit but by the uncertainty of even working in any of these schools, some of which went thru this dance just last year only to repeat it again. The second factor is money--they say they will hire the best they can but never finish the sentence -"with the money available". They are also competing with stable schools that will see far larger attrition than normal due to the caustic atmosphere--but good luck!

The DOE's desire to place more highly qualified teachers in these schools will now cost them. The most qualified are now leaving regardless of whether or not they are the best 50 percent forcing the DOE to hire back teachers they may otherwise not want. Why would a teacher who can transfer want to stay in one of these schools? Also, why would anyone want to transfer to a school that will be under scrutiny and may be outright closed anyway? Do they really think putting all 1st year TFA teachers in here will work? Chaos will reign. As always Bloomberg has bitten himself in the behind!
