    Regarding the Post article about changing his tune on making teacher evaluations public, once again Mr. Walcott shows just what a lackey he is!  Absolutely sickening.

  • Vote NO!

    These  evaluations  must  be  made  public,  every  year,  for  every  teacher.  If  this  new evaluation  system  is  so  good  at   “weeding  out   ineffective  teachers,”  why  would  the  politicians,  and  union  leaders  be  fearful  of  having  the  results  made  public?

    4 years of Quinn is 4 more years of Bloomberg and no one should forget it.

    I thought that the candidate courted the support from labor, has the scenario changed in New York?

  • Michael Fiorillo

    Bloomberg = Putin

    Quinn = Medvedev

  • Transformation Teacher

    Please show you have some sense this time! Don’t endorse Quinn, don’t fail to make an endorsement. Throw all your energy towards a labor-friendly Mayor! We need a contract with a lot of back pay, and no more loss of rights!

    Please refer to him as wall paper. Wallpaper spread over a wall that is really Bloomberg.But then again, his own policy’s would not be well informed having been a teacher for one year.

    I called it the other day. Quinn would be first to cave. I’m I allowed to link to my prophecy?

    It is a crime that people who have been proven innocent are being libled the way the Daily News did to NYC teachers.  I happen to know one of these teachers.  He was falsely accused by a Principal who did not like him.  He was told to be more sensitive and fined $1000.  He is a wonderful teacher and human being.  I would want my children with him. If stories are shown to be false, the teacher should not be put in this position.

  • Pogue

    Mayor Quinnberg would continue to destroy the public school system for the profits of the privatizers.

    If the UFT leadership endorses her, this game will have been rigged since 2001.

    End Mayoral Control.

    I agree that teachers that have been proven to have been abusive should be removed and sufficiently punished, however it is important to maintain due process because it is very easy for students and parents to promulgate lies about teachers for revenge.  Walcott should be equally strict on those students and parents who bring false allegations.  In addition, how can Walcott be so quick to go after teachers with accusations but he continually stands by Bronxdale Principal John Chase?  Shouldn’t administrators be held to the same standards as those in the classroom?  or.. they like to protect their own?

    if the usual suspects here hate Quinn this much, then she’s probably worth voting for.

  • Veronicasinclairstpat

    UFT – take your pick, either deBlasio or Thompson.  Let them know now, start the process now.  Get the other unions involved, police, fire dep’t, and sanitation.  Throw Corrections in there too and you have 5 unions in the city backing ONE candidate.  DO IT NOW!!!!!!!!

    the chuckleheads here all like Liu, if you can believe it.

  • Mrsbobbleheadteacher

    During his radio show the other day, Bloombucks expressed his dismay at independent arbitrators “letting accused teachers off so easily,” and then in the oddest way, he said that accused teachers are worse than “serial axe murderers.”

    Oh I hate that imp!

  • guest

    he did not say that accused teachers are worse than serial axe murderers, for god’s sake. if you hate bloomberg, fine, but you don’t need to lie.

  • bee

     Yup, I like Liu just fine thank you.

  • Pogue

     Vote Liu.

  • guest

    voting for liu is a great way to elect Quinn. it’ll be Quinn versus Thompson/DeBlasio/Liu. you get 1/3 of a vote.
