Thanks for linking to the petition. The petition is nearly at 1,000 signatures now. Join us in signing the petition and sharing it with everyone you know. We can fight together for a fair, comprehensive teacher evaluation system that supports educators in becoming better instead of shaming them.

Thanks Gotham Schools for standing up and not publishing the false Teacher Data Reports. The petition to stop this humiliation now has over 1,000 signatures. Please join in our fight, sign it, send it to everyone you know. Teachers deserve to be evaluated fairly.

Hello Marie. I was actually sent a link to your petition by a network leader in my district. However, the petition requires you to put your physical address and email on it. With the witch hunt against teachers right now, I am actually not sure if I want to attach my name to a petition with a home address. The NY Post has gone to teachers houses in the past two weeks. Things are getting ugly out there. Is it ok to sign the petition with a fake name? Thanks and good luck!

  • Flerplunk

Agree, it is a great idea and will be effective if it’s maintained.

  • Marie Mounteer

Hey Nickie I know it’s scary. I put in a fake home address but a real email. You have to do what you are comfortable with.

The good thing is that only the 10 most recent signers names are visible. People are signing pretty quickly so your name shouldn’t be visible for very long. Someone would have to be looking at the petition every 5 minutes to see it.

Thank you for the solidarity in this crazy world where we truly are at risk for speaking our minds.
