Who is surprised? The same “union” that gave us racist Randi Weingarten is slithering toward charters… I don’t know whether to yawn or upchuck.

Charters need to get their own darn space, and pay for it themselves. And not a dime of money should be given to charters until it is assured that the district schools are STILL fully funded and that the charters are not costing the district students one dime. Let the billionaires who “support” charters put up or shut up. And if the charters occupy space in a district school, they should pay the district school rent at full market value.

The UFT should not be wasting ANY money on unproven, “educational strategies” such as charter schools. The tax payer’s money should not be be used for ANY charter schools. The money we have, should be spent on sound educational policies, such as small class size. Money should be spent on fixing existing neighborhood and magnet public schools and enriching the curriculum so that is meaningful and relevant.
