Wait. So the alternative is a resource wasting and inefficient filing system at Central where you have to wait sometimes for months in order to get a critical educational legal document for your student?

Yes, the new SESIS system was not rolled out effectively. But once you get used to it, in my opinion it's much easier and fosters better IEP writing than using an archaic Windows program.

I am actually amazed it took this long to get an online IEP system implemented!

BTW, There is an online 'help' system, and if you log onto SESIS, they have been offering online training sessions.

Unfortunately technology appears to be another opportunity for the DOE "leadership" to hand out crooked no bid contracts to their corporate friends. You just cannot believe how bad the SESIS program is; this is definitely an example of the "upgrading" of technology at the DOE.

It's the new IEP program where teachers involved in the process MUST know this program with or without training. You should see how awful and user hostile this program is. It replaced the functioning-fine IEP pro which was only partially computer based. On Monday you could still use IEP pro; on Tuesday, you HAD to use SESIS whether you had training or not. It is without a doubt a heap of ........... Confidentiality may become an issue as well, with IEP's floating around in cyberspace.
