Is NYC the only place in NYS where parents, etc. are making a fuss about the new low test scores? NYSED changed the scoring for tests statewide, not just in NYC.

  • Simply Put

The Children and Parents of NYC Schools have been HAD!

    Dee Alpert,

The re-scoring for the tests may have occurred statewide, but it is in NYC that the mass disenfranchisement of parents has taken place, and where everyone is subjected to the 24/7 bullhorn/echo chamber of media hype for mayoral control of the schools (and the agenda that follows from that).

New York City is seen nationally as the model for the hostile takeover of the public schools, and NYC parents are increasingly responding to what that actually entails for their children. They are realizing that the falsity and political manipulation of the test scores, which were used to support the mayor’s PR narrative, benefits private interests at expense of their children’s education.

To say that only parents in NYC are making a “fuss” comes close to trivializing the issue.
