And watch out smalls schools, too. You started out great because Bloomberg and Klein and Gates allowed you to pick and choose kids to show how great small schools are, then you couldn't pick and choose anymore. You were now getting the same kids as the closed-down large schools got, only you're not getting the same services, support, nor experienced leadership. You've served your purpose, too. Now shut it down and get out of the way. KIPP's a comin'! Yeehah!

Surprise, surprise: the charter chains are the ones being pushed by the state and the feds.

Watch out, mom-and-pop charters: they may get rid of you before they cann get rid of the public schools. After all, you've served your purpose.

"State officials also emphasize in the application that they believe charter schools — particularly the large, well-established charter networks like KIPP and Uncommon Schools — would play a large role in re-making schools. To encourage the growth of charters, the state is proposing a fund that will help “high performing” charter operators reduce the interest on debt they owe from building their own facilities." What about the high performing public schools? Why are isn't the RttT funding going to those schools so it can be replicated? It sounds to me that this grant is going to favor the charter schools and ignore the low performing public schools. Where's the fairness here? Gut feeling the RttT grant will be re-routed surreptiously to all these charter schools. A race that's rigged!
