He doesn’t have job he said as a comment to another post. The money from race to top cannot prevent layoffs at all. Also, it not up to the teachers it seems its up union heads making deals in secret to reach deadlines.

anathema…I will refrain from what I really want to say. Maybe you should have an ounce of respect for people who devote their lives to children. Especially to children who do not have anyone that cares about them. We certainly don’t do it for the money! I am on this site to be educated on topics, not to read your nonsense. I’ll tell ya what will prevent teacher layoffs, agree to a pay cut (everyone elses doing it), agree to job furlogs so you gotta work one day a week for free (they doing it in los angeles), pay 7.5% of you’re benefits, and agree to pentions reform… than there be not one layoff and all our students have education and all our teachers have themselfs a job and EVERYONE is happy.

All these guys gotta do is wait til tommorrow night. The teachers and the teachers union get themselfs a three day weekend. While there home, just pass it thru and do whats right for parents and kids.
