They won't be happy until No Child's Behind Is Left.

BTW, if your kid has a fever, how many times an hour should you take his or her temperature with a busted thermometer?

Thanks for lampooning David Cantor and his accomplices at Tweed. They're spinning our kids into the ground. Taking gold and turning it into straw. Saving a system by destroying it.

Education has become all about clever catch phrases: Bush's No Child Left Behind and Bloomberg's Children First. Is anything real happening in between? And testing is the bridge... to nowhere.

Aaron, that's acoincidence. I just came across a sililar briefing paper for D.C. schools
don't let them look at 8th grade NAEP even though it is by far the most important data because it tells more about comprehension over time. Like Duncan just told Ed Week, you don't get a career based on 3rd grade (or 4th) scores.

The growth in D.C. was in the 90th perecntile scores. Scores were flat for for low-income students and had a statistically insignificant decline for Blacks in DC. So maybe the improvement comes from gentrification....

Just a quick "thanks" for your public contributions. This satirical piece is brilliant. Your recent rejoinder to the 60 Minutes propaganda was also a refreshing riposte. Thanks Dr. P!
