FLHS and other large successful schools are set up to explode with students as students from other “less successful” AKA: Phased out institutions, are accepted there. But, can we assume that FLHS and other larger remaining schools will have the seats to take in the crowds? How about 4-5 scattered schedules with teachers starting at period 5, around 12 and going to 8-9 in the evening. Give me a break. You know where the DOE is trying to here, sabotage the remaining larger schools to make room for their tiny boutique schools.

Not only is it extremely dangerous, but many windows cannot be opened enough to escape. Many windows also have locked metal cages around them, again making escape to a roof area impossible. If anything happens, I will be running towards the nearest exit along with the 4700 kids and over 300 staff members. I can’t wait for Francis Lewis to get the deflections from the phased out Jamaica High School. So much for “making it work”. The total disregard for the health, safety, and welfare of both students and staff is unconscionable.
