With our NAEP scores why would anyone, let alone a purportedly distinguished academic, accept as a "presupposition" that "Klein is going great things"?

"Both Klein and Gutmann emphasized the importance of using competition as a lever to force public schools to improve."
"Klein said that he agreed with Edley about the problem of low-performing charter schools. “I’m not so interested in the label,” Klein said. “I’m interested in whether it’s high-performing or low-performing.”"

If Klein wants the public schools to improve, then placing these CEO principals without a lick of teaching experience to run public schools will only create schools that will end up behind the eight ball when competing with charter schools. However, those schools with experienced administrators who recognize good teaching and collaborate with the teaching staff will outshine any charter school. So Klein needs to listen to himself when he speaks. Public schools have children that come with many academic and emotional challenges, yet there are many public schools that meet those challenges and they are high-performing. Why? You can praise the experienced leadership who works with the teaching staff to sustain their work and success.

Well, having turned the federal treasury over to Wall Street, we shouldn't be surprised that Mr. O does the same with the public schools, should we?
