Every billion so spent could buy roughly 10,000 school seats in some 15 - 20 schools, or fund the education of roughly 50,000 students for a year. Or buy a priceless amount of enrichment, remedial, and after-school programs CUT by Bloomberg, Klein, and their 5% budget slashing. For perspective, per published reports, Bloomberg's net worth last year dropped roughly twice that much, over $2 Billion. And he's still the richest guy in town. Times are tough.
