		<description>The 1996 rewrite of the BOE responsibilities gave the Chancellor the right to appoint superintendents and the BOE always had the right to appoint trustees.  All of the partisan fanatics on both sides need to get over themselves and get to the business of teaching not howling at each other...or am I talking about the Senate?</description>

Note that well prior to the NYS Senate meltdown, Tweed long ago banished the community (district) superintendents to far corners of the city from their home districts to serve as Senior Achievement Facilitators, and farmed out the role of superintendent to School Support Networks.</description>
