    Thanks for mentioning my blog!

Thank you for posting the link to the Eva v. Randi debate. It is easy to tell who the polished politician is. Interesting that the HS video cuts off Randi’s final statement; just a technical glitch, I hope.

Eva is an accomplished debater and future Mayoral candidates will study this video hard. Randi was far too conciliatory. She needed to use facts, not “can’t we all just get along?” as a milquetoast reply to tough questions.

It is difficult to envision myself working anywhere else but a high-achieving school as portrayed by Eva. On the other hand, I would love to know why there is such high staff turnover at HS schools and if the pressure to be, using Eva’s word, “heroic” leads to high rates of burnout among her young staff.

What’s the big deal about the California Teacher of the Year being laid off? If you read the article, he is entirely teacher centered, and would have been fired in NYC for incompetence. At least in CA he has a chance of being rehired.

Jack, where you do teach now? Is the school the kind of environment Eva describes?

Audacity of Hoops. I wouldn’t trust anyone to run the country until they can first run a pick and roll.

How about the charter strategy…. PICK the students you want, and ROLL the rest back into the public schools. Then look for vindication in the final scores. Sheesh.
