Accountability is a good thing. But, do they think the exiting system is not accountable enough? If so, which accountability issues are they talking about? It would have been better if they show more accountability towards education and give more support to it.

If Obama/Duncan hope to create a consensus for reauthorization of NCLB they must widen the tent, Schnur is closely allied w/ the “reformist” camp, and is looked upon w/ suspicion by the “folks in the schools.” If Barrack and Arne can’t win over teachers, and their unions, his education agenda will fade, he needs bi-partisan support and he needs those millions of teachers scattered in every district of the nation … you may have noticed that Arne is changing his vocabulary … have not heard “merit pay,” lately, have heard “differentiated pay,” may be only semantic but may be a sublte change in direction …
