Philissa and I will take a spring break along with the public schools starting tomorrow. Ours will involve a week of learning about the latest education research in San Diego, thanks to generous support from the Hechinger Institute.
Meanwhile, please stay tuned to our community section. If anything earth-shattering happens, we’ll post in the newsroom. Otherwise, we’ll be back April 20th, smarter and with a tan. And maybe then we can convince the doubters that we really do not have “an agenda,” besides good journalism.
When a hedge fund is behind Gotham Schools there is an agenda. Sometimes you have to dig a little but you will find bias.
On a personal note, I was truly disappointed when my comment on the “Lil Mama…” charter school article showed up on your front page “Chalk It Up”, for an hour, or so, and then disappeared. I think your “Chalk It Up’s” could be a little more diverse.
More re “Chalk It Up”:
Nothing against KS, but are we going to have to look at the current quote till the 20th?
It wouldn’t be too hard to dig up a plethora of examples of “us vs. them” with Tweed — not the UFT — as the catalyst.
Elizabeth and Philissa, have a great and well-deserved break. The two of you are doing ALL the heavy lifting for the rest of the NYC media.
Hate to see you take a week off. I borrow so much from you guys, I don’t know what I’ll do. Come back rested so you can continue to do the work that the NYT and other bloggers should be doing.
