Note that despite both formal requests from CECD2, and informal requests, DOE has yet to release kindergarten application figures for District 2 (most of Manhattan below 59th, plus UES) -- which is suffering from ever-increasing overcrowding, and, anecdotally only so far, a SPIKE in K applications, even from ZONED kids.

The K application deadline, initially Monday March 2, was extended to Friday March 6.

These figures are roughly two weeks overdue.  Fess up, DOE!</description>

I understand why you are putting this issue out there under the topic of school choice, but I think that it would have been more honest -- yes, I do mean honest -- if you had the word &quot;transfer&quot; in your title. Or something else in the headline that made it clear you were talking about transfer.</description>
