		<description>Using the chancellor&#039;s longevity as a selling point not only serves to obfuscate his history--it&#039;s preposterous on its face.  The fact is that no one represents the parents, and Mr. Klein doesn&#039;t even do his job, which is representing the kids.  The sole reason for his longevity is that he serves as another mouthpiece for Mayor Bloomberg.

I&#039;ve heard Mr. Klein on NPR condemning state budget cuts as unacceptable, but defending city cuts as just one of those things in the course of the same interview.  You can&#039;t have it both ways, and you can&#039;t stand up for kids without sometimes biting the hand that fails to feed them.  NYC kids need a real chancellor and to get one they&#039;re going to have to change the no-checks or balances absolute rule that is NYC mayoral control.</description>
