I have a bumper sticker on the back of my car which makes a statement about the republican party being a party of lies, hate, and greed. I was recently told that a parent complained to my school which is a charter school and said that my bumper sticker was offensive and has requested that I cover it or remove it. My car is my personal property and I am prepared to park in the street outside of the school's property. Can the school still insist that I remove it or cover it up and if I refuse, can they get away with firing me? I believe that this parent is trying to take away my constitutional right to free speech by asking me to remove something on my personal property that will no longer be parked in the school's parking lot.
